Swim Coach Requirements

CLUB COACH

Role

To oversee the overall training of swimmers, ensuring proper training for competitive swimmers, developers, etc, source training opportunities for volunteers and to ensure they have attended a Child Protection course.

Skills
  • Well organized and efficient
  • Confident and effective communicator
  • At least a Level 2 coaching standard, Level 3 is better.
Main Duties
  • Seek out and identify courses to match Club volunteer requirements
  • Keep in regular contact with local sports Development officer
  • Book courses for volunteers and ensure they are informed of joining instructions
  • To assist the committee with the development of the Club’s action plan

LEVEL 2 SWIM COACH

Role

To provide training for both competitive swimmers and developers. Manage one of the Club’s times, look after PB records, pool bookings, etc.

Skills
  • Confident and effective communicator
  • Level 2 coaching standard.
Main Duties
  • To provide swim training in all four strokes
  • If necessary, manage one of the Club’s teams
  • If necessary, look after swims PBs
  • Plan time trials if necessary
