Disabilities
Armagh Swimming Club has an open policy as regards swimmers with disabilities. In the past, we had swimmers with a range of physical disabilities, some of a minor nature while others were more extensive. Examples of these include swimmers with hearing problems; also one of our most talented disability swimmer only had one limb. Yet, Armagh Swimming Club can proudly say that we are one of the few Swimming Clubs in Ireland who had a swimmer who competed on the last two Paralympics Games (in Beijing and Athens). For swimmers with more serve disabilities, e.g. Downs Syndrome, they join our sister swimming club, the Armagh Special Olympics.
