THANK YOU everyone for making the transition to online registration and payment. It has been a smooth and successful progression for our club. Thanks to our treasurer Ryan for his time which made this happen and for overseeing the stages and answering queries. Thank you to our pilot group who met several evenings between December and end of February in addition to coaching commitments and committee nights to learn about the new system and where it would assist within club. Thank you to Louise for her tireless dedication in handling membership for many years prior to the club investing in the new IT system.
Thank you to Tim our web designer and Facebook coordinator for keeping us all connected.
Next challenge which coaches are working on is our gala database to link those swimmers and their parents who have already shown an interest in attending competitions with appropriate events. Watch this space for confirmation that we have rolled the emails out and system is ready to accept gala entries and payments. If at any point you have a query please ask to speak to Mary, Laura, Brian, Stanley, Paddy or Fionnuala who are overseeing your children and can help you make decisions around galas. The coaching team are there for your child just ask … Swim, Eat, Sleep, Repeat ….
Many unseen hours have gone into our club this year. Our next trial night for new members will be in September 2019. Date to be confirmed.
Thank you to Mairead who is working with our new volunteers to complete the SI and Access NI applications. We will soon be in a position to get planning together.
And finally well done to ALL our swimmers who continue to attend their sessions in large numbers and enjoy their friendships while keeping fit.
Our competitive team are excelling and pushing out the boundaries year on year – Michael Millar qualified for and swam at the International Dave McCullough Meet last weekend where he swam against competitors from 8 countries and he bettered his own PB twice through the heats and then finals of 100 FLY. Michael & Ewan are heading to NAC Dublin in July for All Ireland’s DIV 1. Andrew heads to Limerick hoping to build on his collection of medals from several years attending All Ireland DIV 2 and our club celebrated having 8 swimmers qualifying to this level in 2018. The competitive drive in our club continues to bring on newer members as last Sunday Harry collected 3 times to now compete in Qualifying Meets and team members Dylan, James & Annie are in close pursuit just on a renewed drive to shave off a few split seconds between them.
Our Aqua team and parents had a fun day against Kilkeel last Saturday ( team pic to follow ) and some very promising swims from the young children many of whom were in their first gala.
Watch this space for info on Swim Skills Meet – a day out to train for and focus on your techniques.
Great Work one and all associated with Armagh Swimming Club.
