Policy Statement for Armagh Swimming Club

This Club is fully committed to safeguarding the well being of its members. Every individual in the club/organisation should, at all times, show respect and understanding for their rights, safety and welfare, and conduct themselves in a way that reflects the principles of the Club, Child Protection and Welfare Guidelines of Swim Ireland and the guidelines contained in the Code of Ethics and Good Practice for Children’s Sport. To ensure that the best practice is followed by Armagh Swimming Club, we shall work closely with Swim Ireland to promote best practice in our swimming club. We shall comply with the guidelines of the Code of Ethics and Good Practice for Children’s Sport and the Child Welfare Guidelines of Swim Ireland.

Code of Conduct Guidelines

The following notes are the current best practice as identified by the 'Swim Ireland Guidelines for Safeguarding Children 2008'. These guidelines are an essential reference point to ensure the welfare of children is paramount within the club environment and for those working with children in the aquatic disciplines. Swim Ulster clubs are insured on the basis that this best practice is being applied. If any club is unable to demonstrate that these guidelines are not being applied, the Swim Ulster insurance policies will not cover that Cub.
